Blockbuster, a US-based entertainment products retailer, is set to close three more of its stores in the Richmond area. The company had closed other local stores as well since it filed for bankruptcy in 2010.

The stores, which are scheduled to close on 19 February, are located at 2061 Huguenot Road and 13718 Hull Street Road in Chesterfield County: and 6104 Brashier Blvd in Mechanicsville, reported wtvr.com.

Dallas-based Blockbuster said its stores at 3107 Boulevard in Colonial Heights and 9503 W. Broad St. in Henrico County will remain open.

The firm has several Blockbuster movie kiosks around the Greater Richmond area. Blockbuster also offers a mail rental program and by contract, supplies many new releases in advance of competitors Redbox or Netflix.

Blockbuster, which is acquired by satellite television provider Dish Network, operates over 1700 shops in the US with locations in 17 countries worldwide.
