eBay completes sale of eBay Enterprises for $925m

US-based online retailer eBay has completed the sale of its eBay Enterprises for $925m to a consortium group Sterling Partners, Longview Asset Management, and the Innotrac Corporation, along with companies owned by the Permira Funds.

The consortium buyers have divided eBay Enterprise into four distinct businesses. Enterprise Operations & Enterprise Technology Services will be owned by Sterling partners. Permira Funds will own Magento Commerce Technologies business, the marketing solutions unit, and the CRM business unit.

As an independent entity, eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions will cater to eveolving needs of brands and retailers. The company will have devoted resources with flexibility to develop customized solutions, with advanced technology integration to optimize clients' marketing expenditure.

eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions will focus on delivering marketing technology and services. It is intended at enabling brands and retailers to deliver omni-channel experiences to engage

This entity will offer solutions such as affiliate network, display advertising, search marketing, data and analytics, and other agency services required by retailers to improve their business.

Through affiliate network, advertisers will be able to connect with vast majority of publishers using tracking technology, dynamic commissions and customized, innovative analytics. Advertisement platforms, site-direct relationships, and audience targeting techniques to help identify and reach customers and track new prospects can be achieved through the company's display advertising service. Agency services help brands design and apply end-to-end experiences in-store, online and on other devices.
