GoLite, MontBell to open stores in Boulder, Colorado
US-based retailer GoLite plans to open a flagship store at the Pearl Street Mall and Japan-based MontBell plans to move its North America flagship store back to Pearl Street.
MontBell is likely to shut down its Twenty Ninth Street shop by 18 March and open by the end of March at 1500 Pearl St, reported dailycamera.com.
The company's officials reportedly plan to tweak some of the offerings at the new shop, which is about half the size of the retailer's current 7,000ft² space.
A decade ago, the Japanese outdoor gear firm opened its only North American location at the corner of Broadway and Pearl, but it moved the shop in 2006 to a larger spot at the newly opened Twenty Ninth Street.
MontBell's is expected to arrive in downtown Boulder earlier than GoLite, which plans to open store at 1222 Pearl St. on 29 February.
GoLite president and founder Demetri Coupounas said the new 3,854ft² shop is meant to serve as an embodiment of the brand and philosophies. The retailer has another six leases in process this week.
