Kobo partners with Best Buy to sell eReaders
Toronto-based books, gifts and specialty toys retailer Kobo has struck a deal with US-based electronics retailer Best Buy. The deal will see Vox eReader stocked at stores across the US and online at www.bestbuy.com.
Last month, the retailer has tied up with that Netherlands-based retailer Libris Blz to sell Kobo Touch eReader online at www.libris.nl and www.blz.nl, and in select stores starting 30 January for EUR129.
Todd Humphrey from Kobo said the company is focused on delivering an innovative and easy eReading experience and expanded footprint throughout the US. In the UK, the devices are sold by Asda and WHSmith.
"We're excited to offer the Kobo Vox eReader in US Best Buy locations where consumers can try our innovative social experience and see the difference that Kobo brings to eReading," Humphrey said.
Kobo has over 5 million readers in more than 100 countries. Kobo store offers a selection of over 2.5 million eBooks, newspapers and magazines.
